Drop day for October Road, great things happening!

So today is the next drop day in the letter campaign to ABC/Disney. They should be gettting all your letters today. Not to mention all the emails sent last night. Don't forget to call and leave a message for them as well. I wanted to mention the great need for every single October Road fan to join the Yahoo group page. This is the only place I know of that I can go and send out emails to everyone. If you sign up, make sure you check the box that allows you to get group emails. Once a person posts a message there, it gets emailed to all 92 memebers if they allow that. I am really worried that people are not getting the word that we are still fighting. Having one place to go to get an email put in everybodies inbox is the key, IMO. I can't stress it enough! Why, because I needed that reminder this week & I didn't get the email so I missed the drop date for today. That is no one's fault, but I don't want that to happen for any fan of October Road. So since we don't get emails from the message boards, the Yahoo Group is our only source for this kind of alert! Please see my links list for the Yahoo group link. Click on it and join, please, please, I am begging everyone!! We have to thank Donna V. for getting her wonderful friend to blog for October Road again. She has blogged a number of times now for October Road, and today is a great one. I have listed her blog link on the OR bloggers list to the left. But I am going to include it here also, please go and leave a comment thanking her for talking about October Road. It means so much to the promotions of the show! Here's the link: http://writerrae.typepad.com/my_weblog/ In closing if you could find your way to the links list for the polls to vote at today that would be so great. It is also listed on the left. Ok, well that's all I have for today's entry. Thank you all for everything you are doing! I just love that we are still all working as a team!

October Road ratings, numbers, graphs, and all the stuff I don't get!

I love the new blog post at www.about.com by Rachel. It was so good to get on this morning and find that link in my in box. She said some really great things about October Road and it's fan's. I love the statement about the Nielsen Ratings being less then correct. Here's the link to the article, leave a comment if you can. http://tvdramas.about.com/b/2008/06/04/what-was-the-most-heart-
I also wanted to mention again how great it is to see our numbers at Hey Nielsen be so much better. They might have dropped a bit yesterday, but the past five days we have been doing pretty good.
I was doing some digging at the website www.tvbynumbers.com because I wanted to see our numbers for October Road. What I found there was a bunch of numbers I didn't know what they meant. I didn't want to risk looking even more stupid, so I can tell you this. Our numbers were not high enough to make ABC bring October Road back instead of Wife Swap. I can tell you that some of our rankings were so close to Wife Swap I'd like to scream.
But the site is based only on Nielsen ratings. I don't think they are as accurate as they say they are. I really believe the numbers for our show were a bit higher. It looks like we pulled a 3.4 million viewership for the finally. I thought it was a 3.5 but one tenth off ain't that bad.
I think the key to getting people to watch October Road is advertising. I think we are the key to that advertising. Word of mouth, blogging, Internet posting, and all out shameless plugging is what this show needed.
I sure wish I would of known last Season my show was in trouble. A simple heads up by the network in a commercial would of been great. Why don't more networks do that, run a 30 second spot on all the shows they are thinking of canceling??? I mean let us know so we can take action soon enough to make a difference. If we had been working from day one on the Pay October Road Forward campaign, I think so many more people would of been reached.
Well that is all water under the bridge now! We are focusing on asking ABC/Disney to give us another chance, to bring these numbers up. They brought Wife Swap and October Road was right on their heals for ratings, that I don't get. My sister said maybe it's cuz the whole family can watch Wife Swap! She changed her answer quickly when I looked at her with disgust and confussion. She said, "Oh maybe not all the time!" LOL.
Tell me what you think about this subject of Nielsen ratings, numbers, and what they mean to our fight to bring October Road back to television.
Ok, end of Rant!

EDDIE LATEKKA from October Road, such a cool guy to me!

OK, I can't stop laughing because I am such a DORK! I can not figure out how to make a picture smaller on photo bucket. Well let me rephrase that, I can't figure out how to re-size the picture at the bottom of this page. I think it is so funny how I posted all these pictures and this one picture I can't seem to make any smaller. If you scroll down now you will see what I'm talking about. It's a surprise so I won't say any more then this. It is so big, I think I look like a freak for posting it. But I had to, I guess because I am a freak, a freak for all things October Road! So today's entry on this blog is all about me being a complete dork, in every sense of the word, just like Eddie Latekka says on the show. I love how cool he is! Eddie is the type of everyday guy that seems to be excepting of everyone. It's kind of like thinking the real popular guy will never want to talk to me, and then boom, Eddie walks up to you at Sully's bar and says, "What goes on?" I mean look at the group of guy's he hangs out with, they are all not what you call the cool group. But they are a group of guy's that seem to think they are all cool, except Eddie Latekka. He doesn't have to think he is cool himself, because everyone knows he already is. With the guy's he seems to be the only one to call them all "DORKS"! The difference is when Eddie calls you a dork, he does it with such warmth you know he is really giving you a compliment. Any way's today isn't all that heavy, maybe because over at the LJ blog I was pretty heavy. But if you have scrolled down to the bottom of the page you will see what I mean when I say I can't stop laughing. It's all October Road's fault! End of Rant!

All things October Road!

Well I have been busy the last few day's learning all I can learn about making the blog better and more interesting. Last night I got stuck on finding all kinds of pictures that have anything to do with October Road. I was a mad women looking at www.photobucket.com and what I had saved on my computer. I just found so many that I loved. But you see the draw back is this, I am a complete dummy when it comes to HTML codes and posting images. So I spent way to long putting pictures here on the blog for you all to see, and almost missed the cut off to post my opinion over at Hey Nielsen. I was so stress I was yelling at the computer to move faster. I can report the computer did not answer back so I have not completely lost my mind. When I came here today to post this entry I came from just finishing my other blog over at Live Journal. This is all new here so I was so happy to come here and mess around some more with the lay out of the page and such. I just now read the poll I had posted for picking what show you wanted to see next year on ABC and I forgot to list October Road as one of the options. I think I have lost my mind. But you will be happy to see I fixed that and added more pictures for you to see from the cast and show. So, I will end by saying, I'm not done yet, just like we aren't done trying to get ABC to listen to us. I read over at the advisory board this quote from one of the moderator's in regards to all our post pleading for October Road to be brought back to television: "Thank you for all of your passionate feedback. ABC Studios appreciates your support for our shows. Note that ABC Studios and ABC Network are separate entities, and ABC Studios does not make programming decisions. Please read more about ABC Studios below, and we look forward to your continued participation. About ABC Studios -ABC Studios, formerly known as Touchstone Television, has established itself as one of Hollywood's leading production companies, creating critically-acclaimed, quality programming to the broadcast and cable television industry. Since the Touchstone banner first appeared on the sitcom Golden Girls over twenty years ago, the studio has produced many of the most recognizable television programs in the world. The studio's focused balance of creativity, management and technology has yielded 23 diverse productions in the 2007/08 season on networks ABC, CBS, NBC, CW, Lifetime, ABC Family and FX. Currently Grey's Anatomy, Lost and Desperate Housewives are international sensations while Samantha Who? and Private Practice launched as two of the most popular new series this season. ABC Studios is currently in production on over twenty programs including fan favorites Brothers & Sisters and Ugly Betty on ABC, According to Jim and Scrubs...which both completed their seventh year on television, the popular CBS dramas Criminal Minds and Ghost Whisperer, ABC Family's most watched original series Kyle XY, and ABC's late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live. And what exactly is the role of a television studio? ABC Studios collaborates with talented writers, producers, directors, actors and entertainment craftsman to produce television programs by developing them from nascent ideas into elaborate and compelling series. Production involves over 100 people on each series to plan, shoot, edit, sell and market the programs. And as owners of the content, ABC Studios has the opportunity to sell these programs to myriad distribution businesses, platforms and markets, whether it be broadcast, cable, syndication, international, DVDs, free streaming, downloads, mobile phones and more. These distribution outlets enable the studio to enrich the viewer's experience, bringing them shows when, where and how they want them. " end quote. My question is to you people is this: Was that their not so subtle way of asking us to stop posting are unhappiness with the cancellation of October Road?? I think it was. OK, well that's all for now. Feel free to leave comments and vote on the polls. Both polls you are able to choose as many options as you like. Tootle Pip!

My message to October Road Fan's that have lost hope and don't want to fight anymore!

I understand how sad it is to see our efforts not be taken for what they are. I think if we have 1 viewer for October Road, their is at least 4 more standing behind that viewer. Shell from the Yahoo Group said this today, "I asked my father in law about complaining to a corporation and he said, for every letter sent into a corporation as a complaint, there is a 100 more for that one!" This statment blew me away. So what he is saying is that every corporation should realize, for every letter they recieve as a complaint there are 100 more out there not sending a letter in for the same complaint. Well at least that's what I thought was meant by this statement. I mean everyone of us can get at least 4 people they know to want to sit and watch this great show. So ABC doesn't count that, ok, so what. Fox see's it! They are changing there programing this fall for two big show's. Fringe and Doll House, these show's are expected to do so good Fox is only selling 5 min. of commercial time at a very high price. These shows are going to get a 50 min. content time slot. Fox, say's they are doing this because of the TiVo/DVR phenom. See, Fox, get's it! The networks have to get with the times. They don't want us reaching for the remote and skipping commercials. So they think a little bit of good quality commercial's will help this from not happening. What does that have to do with OR, everything, ABC has to see that Steve McPherson is in the Dark ages. They think more Reality will save them because programs cost much more to make now. But what can we do about it? I don't know if we "SMALL CORE FAN GROUP" that is "NOT THE KIND OF AUDIENCE" McPherson is looking for can do anything. But we have to try! We have to keep trying because another great show is going to come along and get the same treatment, because what McPherson means is we "small core fan group" is mostly women in the 20 to 100 range. We are the ones that do the voting, petitioning and watching mostly of OR, right? Yeah I agree, but I don't see that as a bad thing, I see it as a good thing. Woman around the world guide what the family watch's most the time. If the family is ages 15 to 100 they all will love October Road! So on the myspace group page for OR, a comment was left by a fan. She had paper leaves she made and let her kids color the leaves. Then they wrote fav. quotes from the show and sent them in. I think that is a great idea! You don't even have to cut them out, make a maple leaf on your computer, type on the inside your fav. quote and why you want OR back and shoot it off in the mail to McPherson. I know we are feeling ignored and unappreciated, well I know I am, but I think some of you fan's are too! I think it frakken vaccum's, but I don't care! I'm never going to stop fighting for this show. I'm sorry this is so long, but I had a lot on my mind and wanted to put it out there into the universe. I also don't believe a boycott will help. No one is going to stop watching Lost, if they are a fan. We Lost fan's are Rabid! No one is going to stop watching Grey's we fan's are head over heals for McSteamy and McDreamy. I won't stop watching Dancing with the Stars. So, it's hard, it's sad sometimes, it vaccums(sucks), and yes it might not work, but we all have to try! The end of my rant!
